Research
Functional analysis and structure control of complex microbial consortium
Various kinds of microbes existing on the earth play important roles in element circle. On the other hand, various kinds of microbes existing in human gut play important roles in health maintenance. Those microbes are, however, difficult to isolate and cultivate. We figure out the ecophysiology and function of uncultured microbes in the environments and human gut by combining a new isolation method with new molecular techniques. Then, we develop applied technologies to maximize their functions in the field of medical care, health care, food industry and environment conservation.
