English-based Undergraduate Program in Science and Engineering

A global-standard, high-quality curriculum at Waseda University

 The Major in Bioscience is structured so that students in their first and second years study core elements of science (Chemistry, physics and life sciences) and mathematics in both lectures and practical provide a strong foundation of broad scientific knowledge. Along with these core scientific subjects students will also study courses such as technical English and for international students Japanese. As the course progresses students will study more advanced Bioscience and its relationship of medical practice via compulsory and elective courses enabling students to tailor their learning somewhat to their own interests. A key element of the course is the conducting of a research project in a laboratory under the supervision of a faculty member of the major in Bioscience during which students conduct hands on cutting-edge research leading to a graduation thesis.
